ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS
If you have a child who was born between 1 September 2008 and 31 August 2009 you will need to complete an application form for a school place in the academic year starting September 2013.
Application forms and booklets are available for collection from the school or completed online at www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/onlineadmissions, and need to be with the Bedfordshire School Admissions Service by 15 January 2013. Parents will be notified by post on 30th April 2013 as to which school a place for their child has been allocated. If you have applied online you will be sent a confirmation email.
At Brickhill we have an Early Years Unit that caters for children in their 4+ years. The current admissions arrangements are that children, who are 4 before the preceding 31 August, are admitted in September. We offer the opportunity for all children joining the Early Years Unit to start full time immediately following the induction fortnight. *
However, if after the induction fortnight parents have any reservations about a non statutory child** starting full time or if indeed we feel it is not in the best interests of the individual then we will of course seek to accommodate the needs of the child.
*In September the children are gradually introduced into school, a few each day, over the first two weeks of term. This gives staff time to settle the children in.
**Children whose fifth birthday falls between January and August.
It is important that you visit the school before registering your child and we invite you to phone or call in for an appointment. You are invited to attend the Story Club for pre-school children on Wednesdays at 3.00p.m. This normally starts in May of the year in which your child starts school. |
